Purpose of the site: To have a customized e-commerce enabled website with feature rich functionality and one of the best shopping carts for websites. After extensive research and testing, we chose the Big Commerce e-commerce solution,  Shopping cart software trusted by 8,956 online retailers!

The e-commerce solution  was chosen for more many reasons; in particular though:

1. ease with which their selection of templates could be customized to fit the companies’ brand image, logo, colors, etc…
2. search engine tools are built into the software…major league importance if you want to be found on the web and rank high in search engines
3. the built in blogging capabilities are key for search engine rankings as well, search engines LOVE sites that keep content fresh and up-to-date!
4. love the marketing and merchandising capabilities…looks alot like Amazon!..very professional…
5. site stats and reporting is super cool and hugely informative

We chose the “Garden” design template as a starting point and then applied basic design customizations for budgetary reasons. We then made the following customizations:

• Created a custom background to the site

Client: Umbrella Roofing

Purpose of the site: To provide an online brochure and presence for this roofing contractor’s products and services. This is their first website. We at Rhino Ruby Studios use the WordPress content management system to create powerful and easy to manage websites. We create custom WordPress themes for all of our customers.

Design:

We chose the “Classic Ruby” design template in the color Blue as a starting point. This is one of many WordPress themes we create from scratch. We then made the following customizations:

• Used the blue color from the Logo and swapped this color for the standard blue seen in this template (Looks better with the logo) (no extra charge)
• Used a slightly different orange color so that it worked well with the new blue color from the logo. (no extra charge)
• Created a simple custom top banner with their logo by adding a faded out color banner behind the logo to give the top banner a little more interest and dimension. (no extra charge)

You are welcome to provide us your own PMS colors (typically we use 3 main colors in a design). Or let us pick up colors off of your logo and fine tune your website template. (no extra charge)

Blooms of Intentions Website

Purpose of the site: The client is aware of the importance of building a “family of websites” for search engine rankingsof relevance and importance. In other words they want to be at the top of all searches or “Googles” for the topics they focus on. They do quite a bit of informative blogging (which again is EXCELLENT for search engine rankings!). With so much blogging they can create blogs on different topics which all relate back to the main content of their web business.

The site was created as a blog for several reasons:

1. to create a website that is specific to their product Blooms of Intentions
2. to create another website with Search Engine Optimized pages targeting specific keywords: relating to their Blooms of Intentions.   This technique is one key to being found on the first page of any search engine query or “Google” for their targeted topic or “keyword”.
3. to create another site that’s active, because there’s blogging activity (search engines love this!), and to have another site to link to and from with their other four sites: A Spiritual Blog, Seeds of Intention (their parent site), Law of Attraction Blog and their Seeds of Intentions Blog.

Links into your website from outside sources is a HUGE aspect of search engine rankings!

We have numerous links between the five sites to create relevance and importance for the keywords they are targeting. If you notice this page, I have links out to each of their 5 websites. I am using their keywords in my “alt text” to also build more relevance and importance to their sites on Google (or any other search engine). For more on Search Engine Optimization you’ll want to visit our DIY Resource page in addition to the recommendations I have in the left and right columns of this website.

Design:

We chose the “Casual Ruby” design template as a starting point. We then made the following customizations:

• Used Seeds of Intentions custom colors
• Created a custom background to the site (see the background with a glare in the top left corner of site and a silhouette of a wild flower meadow on the bottom)
• Created a custom top banner with their Blooms of Intentions logo.
• Created custom graphics—bullet icons, divider lines, logo and banner etc..
• Changed the shape of  the top navigation buttons
• Added more functionality to the site with a Newletter sign up which is tied to their Constant Contact email marketing account, a Social Network Sharing button on every page and post of the site, an RSS feed from their Seeds of Intentions Blog, and sections (aka widgets) that  organize their blogging posts.

Purpose of the site: The client is Aspen’s premier furniture store, fine rug gallery, outdoor patio furniture retailer and interior design firm.

Cathers Home Blog

The site was created as a blog for several reasons:

1. to create a selling space for their warehouse full of heavily discounted furniture and rugs. Our intention is to create an active space around customers looking for greatly discounted designer furnishings and rugs. They’ll only post one item at a time to keep clients returning to the blog to see what new deals are being posted that day.
2. to have a space to share what’s new in the design world and in their furniture store
3. to have a space to share their portfolio of design projects and before and after scenarios
4. to create a website with Search Engine Optimized pages targeting four specific keywords: furniture stores aspen colorado, rugs aspen colorado, interior design aspen colorado, and outdoor patio furniture aspen colorado. This is one key to being found on the first page of any search engine query or “Google” search.
5. to create another site that’s active, because there’s blogging activity (search engines love this!), and to have another site to link to and from with their main site Cathers Home.
