What is Article Spinning and Who Could Use Article Spinning Tools?

Liz Gracia WordPress Plugin Scout Extrordinaire

Liz Gracia WordPress Plugin Scout Extraordinaire

We are going to answer the question, “What is article spinning?”, but first we are going to address who can benefit from the use of article spinning tools and services.

Article spinning tools and services would be highly beneficial to the following types of internet users:

  • professional bloggers that intend to monetize their blogging efforts
  • professional writers that want to get their written materials and articles on multiple article directories for maximum exposure
  • website owners, that do a fair a fair amount of relevant article writing, knowledge sharing and blogging about their products or services, that want to drive loads more traffic to their websites
  • and, MOST IMPORTANTLYany website owner that wants to drive more traffic to their website, create valuable and relevant back links to their sites and come to the top of search engine rankings in their respective targeted keywords.

So if you qualify as someone that would benefit from article spinning software, tools and/or services, here’s what article spinning is to us here at Rhino Ruby Studios and why we use it:

Article spinning is used to create 10′s-100′s of unique articles from one article. We want to be able to post our unique articles on 100′s of other sites, but we would like that each article is worded slightly differently so as to appear that it is not duplicate content. So in order to take one unique article and turn it into 100 unique articles (all with the same meaning, mind you, but written slightly differently with the use of synonyms throughout the article) you need the help of some article spinning software that does most of the time consuming and tedious work of article spinning.Facebook Social media marketing Rhino

We at Rhino Ruby Studios use an article spinning software that is actually a premium WordPress Plugin (we only build custom WordPress websites, so cool plugins that make our life easier are a joy!). The name of this Article Spinning WordPress plugin is Digi Article Blaster, (click here for more about this killer WordPress article spinning and back linking plugin). WE use this article spinning tool because we submit our articles to over 150 websites like article directories and blogs. Any time we spin 1 article, it is rewritten in a slightly different way 150 times, for each article directory we submit our articles to. And this article spinning tool automatically submits the article to each of the 150 directories!!! That’s HUGE!

And what is the ultimate reason anyone would want to be doing this?

In a word: Backlinks.

But these days, we all know that. Backlinks = link juice = traffic = money.

So these days, everyone wants to know: what’s the best way to get backlinks?

We both know the answer to that one, too: Article Marketing

Why?

Because it’s syndicating your content. Your high-quality article is being sent all over the web, and it’s loaded with the backlinks that send link juice to your site…

Because you’re getting contextual links… far more powerful than conventional backlinks…

But there’s just one little problem…

Manual article marketing is like wading through concrete

So…our solution has been the article spinning tool called Digi Article Blaster, a premium WordPress plugin for website owners and bloggers serious about backlink juice and driving tons of traffic to their websites. Click on the image below to find out all about it.

For more about this article spinning software, tool and premium WordPress plugin, read our WordPress plugin review and it will go into a little bit more detail about what you have to do to “spin” an article with this software/plugin. Click here now.

Want to know what article spinning is according to Wikipedia:

Article spinning is a search engine optimization technique by which blog or website owners post a unique version of relevant content on their sites. It works by rewriting existing articles, or parts of articles, and replacing elements to provide a slightly different perspective on the topic. Many article marketers believe that article spinning helps avoid the feared penalties in the Search Engine Results pages (SERP) for using duplicate content. If the original articles are plagiarized from other websites or if the original article was used without the copyright owner’s permission, such copyright infringements may result in the writer facing a legal challenge, while writers producing multiple versions of their own original writing need not worry about such things.

Website owners may pay writers to perform spinning manually, rewriting all or parts of articles. Writers also spin their own articles, manually or automatically, allowing them to sell the same articles with slight variations to a number of clients or to use the article for multiple purposes, for example as content and also for article marketing. There are a number of software applications which will automatically replace words or phrases in articles. Automatic rewriting can change the meaning of a sentence through the use of words with similar but subtly different meaning to the original. For example, the word “picture” could be replaced by the word “image” or “photo”. Thousands of word-for-word combinations are stored in either a text file or database thesaurus to draw from. This ensures that a large percentage of words are different from the original article.

Article spinning requires “spintax”. Spintax (or spin syntax) is the list of text, sentences, or synonyms that are embedded into an article. The spinning software then substitutes your synonym choices into the article to create new, unique variations of the base article.

Contrary to popular opinion, Google until 2010 did not penalize web sites that have duplicated content on them, but the advances in filtering techniques mean that duplicate content will rarely feature well in SERPS.[1] [2]. In 2010 and 2011, changes to Google’s search algorithm targeting content farms aim to penalize sites containing significant duplicate content.[3]

The duplication of web content may also break copyright law in many countries. See, for example, the United States Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (OCILLA) and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

The Importance of Online Directory Submissions a’la SEO

website design and seo internet marketing services for small to medium sized businessesAt Rhino Ruby Studios we offer internet marketing services including SEO Online Directory Submissions…though we’ve had to taper back our offerings because of the limitations we have when submitting your information to important online directories. But before we get to those limitations let us tell you what we have found in our work with our clients.

Clients that hire us to do search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) get quarterly reports of their search engine rankings (typically their Google rankings) What we have found in our research and reporting is that many of our clients show up on page 1, for many of their keywords (with a “local/regional” long tail) on Google, in multiple positions. Of the 10 positions available on page 1 of Google, 1-3 of these listings is, many times, from an Online Directory.

My guess is that Online Directories (Like Google Maps, Bing Local, etc…) have better ranking power than most local/small business based websites, especially websites that use no search engine optimization (SEO). This is typically because most small to medium sized businesses are unaware of the need for SEO and deem it useless, incomprehensible or unaffordable. (Our experience has shown that those that invest in SEO on their websites from the beginning get faster ROI. Those that don’t call and ask us why they can’t find their website on Google!?!) So if you can’t afford SEO work on your website (though we do our best to make it affordable) we HIGHLY recommend making sure you submit your website to all of the top Online Directories and we recommend you make your directory submissions manually!

Here’s what you need to know before you do though:

  1. You need to know what top 5-10 keywords people are using to find a business or website like yours. In order to do this you need to do some keyword research. Google provides a simple and free keyword research tool. here’s the link to that: Click here. Please note: Most titles are only 60 characters long. use the MOST important keywords here.
  2. Once you’ve honed in on the top keywords for your website, you need to write SEO Titles and Descriptions for your online submissions. That means you will use your top 2-3 keywords to write a title and description of your business for directory submission purposes (remember I told you my client’s directory submissions are showing on page 1 Google  results? That’s because we’re writing these titles & descriptions for them. THIS IS IMPORTANT!) Please note: Most descriptions are either 200 characters or 400 characters long. So write one for each purpose.

Here’s an example of an SEO Title and Desciption we wrote for some of our online directory submissions:

Title (60 characters with spaces): Affordable SEO Website Design Packages-SEO Internet Marketing Services

Description (200 characters with spaces):

We offer affordable SEO website design packages and internet marketing services  to small businesses. We build our SEO business web designs are database driven websites built on a WordPress platform.

When you begin to do keyword research you will find that you can combine keyword phrases into 1 so that you are getting many keyword phrases in a short 200 Character descritption. For example, my 200 word description contains the following keywords/keyword phrases:

  1. affordable website design
  2. website design packages
  3. SEO website design
  4. business website designs,
  5. SEO
  6. internet marketing
  7. internet marketing services
  8. small business website design
  9. database driven websites
  10. web design WordPress

When we write titles and descriptions we write in order to get a lotta’ SEO bang for our buck! We’ve got 10+ keyword phrases working for us in those descriptions!

More things you’ll want to have ready when you submit your site to online directories:

  • Owner’s Name
  • Owner’s Bio (If you want…not required):
  • Business Information
  • Business Categories/Listing:
  • Operating Hours
  • Forms of payment accepted
  • Year Business was Established
  • Description of the business
  • Your business logo
  • Up to 10 images (of products, portfolio, business location, etc…)
  • Up to 5 videos (for some directories)

***VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: You NEED to be able to answer the phone you are listing in your online directory submissions!!!! They want to verify that you actually exist.

We at Rhino Ruby Studios are happy to assist you with the SEO work needed for your online directory submissions. We can also assist you with a list on the key online directories you will want to be a part of. Contact us today at 970.963.5677 or via email.

***This is why we don’t do any more online directory submissions for our clients! We can’t be in their physical location to answer the calls that are necessary for these VERY important directories.

How to: A Successful SEO Strategy in 4 Steps

Most of the following information was provided by www.entireweb.com

Search engine optimization or SEO is actually a complete package of services that every website needs to have these days and we include in all of our SEO website design packages, as it is so vitally important!

The competition is such that if you are seriously focusing on internet as a means of marketing and making money, then you cannot do without an SEO strategy.

With search engine optimization, everything about the website, that is, on and off the page, can be improved.

Through SEO, the web traffic to the website can be increased and search engines will also find the website relevant enough to be ranked high. But all this is done in an effort to make the website more visible and be able to generate more sales and business leads.

For any business, every visitor viewing its website is a potential buyer. More potential buyers are brought in with SEO and this means that there are more sales and business leads.

SEO is also not a process which can be forgotten at any point or can be achieved fully only once. You need to always improve and improvise the SEO methods so that your website is always ranked high and is seen by more and more people.

Remember that nothing in the internet world is static. There is always movement and changes so you need to stay updated.

A good SEO strategy can be broadly broken up into four steps. Each of these is important and integral to the whole, as the whole thing can only provide the desired results.

The first of these steps is the website analysis.

You should be able to see what keywords are being used, how effective these are depending on the ranking of the website on search engines.

Then, you will see if the visitors are allowed to post their feedback, what the feedbacks say, how good and relevant is the content, what follow-up procedures are done to keep a client, the RSS feeds on your page and links.

You should also be able to check which search engines your site appears on and check the effectiveness of your search engine marketing (SEM).

The second phase is to analyze your rivals or competitors in the same way.

During this phase you should do a detailed study of your website, analyze it point by point, its structure, layout, content, SEO details, visitor reactions and appeal.

While each detail is noted as for your site, a comparative study is also conducted. The competitors are first identified according to the audience and then every detail is noted starting from ranking to website structure and even links. These services will help to put your links on these sites on a sharing basis.

The third step is to define what needs to be done after studying your website and comparing it to your competitors’ websites.

The three steps above should provide you with ideas on how to improve the web traffic to your page and in effect, increase your sales.

The fourth step is the implementation plan and the assessment of the results achieved.

Please note achievements do not happen overnight, they are a gradual process.

How to Get Search Engine Top Rankings and More Clicks on Your Website

The following information is from the Best SEO software company I partner with in order create SEO pages for my clients’ websites so that they can get found on Google searches. This SEO reporting software shows you how to get search engine top rankings and more clicks on your website or your money back.

Want to analyze and optimize your website pages for Top 10 search engine rankings and Top 10 rankings on Google? For more about IBP SEO Software click here

It’s great if your website is listed on Google’s first result page for the right keywords. It’s not so great if nobody clicks on your listing because there’s something wrong with it and there’s no compelling (and relevant) call to action for the  Google searcher. There are some easy and some not-so-easy things that you can do to get more clicks on your Google listings.

Easy: Make your web page titles more interesting

The title of the listed web page is the first thing that a searcher will see. For that reason, it is very important that your web pages use compelling web page titles:

  • Words that match the search query will be appear in bold in the titles. Your listing will stand out if it contains bold words so make sure that your web pages are so targeted that they contain the searched word in the title.
  • Make sure that the titles of your web pages are descriptive. It should be clear what to expect on the pages.
  • Add a call to action and benefits in your web page title.
  • Put the most important information at the beginning of the title. Search engines might shorten the title in the search result pages and people might not see the complete text.
  • If you’re not a major brand name, avoid your company name in your web page titles.
  • Do not use the same title for all of your web pages. This is a mistake that many beginners make.

Avoid very short page titles. If the titles of your web pages are too short or only a collection of keywords, Google might rewrite them.

We at Rhino Ruby Studios know how to write compelling titles with a relevant call to action for the searcher! Our affordable SEO Website Design Packages include this type of work for you!

Not so easy: Try to influence the description that Google uses for your website

Just like the web page title, the description should include a call to action and it should tell searchers why your website is better than others. Unfortunately, Google usually does not use the Meta Description tag.

If you want to influence the description of your website on Google, you can do the following:

  • Add the keyword to the meta description: If your meta description contains the searched keyword then it is more likely that Google will use the meta description.
  • Block your ODP directory description: for some websites, Google uses the description that is used on DMOZ.org. You can avoid this by using the following tag on your pages: <meta name=”robots” content=”NOODP”>
  • Avoid duplicate meta tags: if you use the same title and the same meta description tag on multiple pages then Google sees little value in these tags.
  • Completely block your snippet: if you use the <meta name=”robots” content=”nosnippet”> tag then Google won’t display a snippet for your website. You should only use this tag if Google uses a very bad description for your page.

Usually, Google will create the snippet based on the text that is found on your web pages. If the searched keyword appears on your web page, it will be displayed in bold face in the snippet. Bold keywords drive click-throughs.

For that reason, the keyword should appear on your web page. If you want to make sure that your web page appears on Google’s first result page for a particular keyword, it is important that the keyword appears in the right elements on a page.

Again, we at Rhino Ruby Studios know how to write compelling descriptions with a relevant call to action for the searcher! Our affordable SEO Website Design Packages include this type of work for you!

Analyze your web pages with IBP’s Top 10 Optimizer to find out how to change your web pages so that you get top 10 search engine rankings as well as Top 10 rankings on Google they appear on the first result page on Google for the right keywords.

If you want to find out for which keywords and with which titles and descriptions your competitors are listed on Google, analyze your competitors on SEO profiler.

Why Create a Facebook Fan Page for Your Business?

The following information is provided by: Interactive Promotions for Brand Marketing by Wildfire Promotion Builder | Wildfire Interactive, Inc.

Why Create a Facebook Fan Page?

Businesses are finding a number of reasons to create a Facebook Fan Page.

Facebook is where Internet users spend most of their time
With nearly 500 million users worldwide, 135 million of which live in the US, facebook has 8 times as many page views as Yahoo! each month. As a matter of fact, Facebook has more page views than the next 100 largest websites on the Internet combined each month, according to Google’s DoubleClick ad planner.

The value of fans
Social media specialist Vitrue tried to put a media value on a facebook page. The firm has determined that, on average, a fan base of 1 million translates into at least $3.6 million in equivalent media over a year, assuming a $5 CPM on the impressions generated by the fanbase.

Another social media company, Syncapse Corp., found Facebook fans spend an average of $71.84 more than non-fans over a period of two years. They also found that fans are 28% more likely to keep using a brand than non-fans; 68% of fans are “very likely” to recommend a product in contrast to 28% of non-fans; 81% of fans feel connected to a brand versus 39% of non-fans; and the average value of a fan is $136.38.

Facebook Fan Pages are designed specifically for businesses
Facebook Pages are designed specifically for the needs of businesses interested in reaching their users on Facebook. Creating a fan page is free and easy, are visible to unregistered people – so are thus indexed, provide visitor statistics, encourage engagement via news feeds, and enable event creation & invitations.

Facebook Marketing Strategies & Tips: Make the Most of Your Fan Page

I am loving exploring the possibilities on Facebook for marketing your business. I have found some great resources and information on Facebook marketing strategies and Facebook marketing tips. I am now offering Facebook marketing services to help you build your Facebook page fan base and an overall marketing plan and objective for your business. Following is an article written by the folks at Vitrue.com

Facebook Best Practices Series from Vitrue: Keepin’ it Short and Sweet

fbpSharing links – it’s a big part of social media. It’s become a lot easier and more aesthetically appealing, thanks to our good friends, URL shorteners.

What’s a URL shortener?  They’re web tools that shorten long URL links, and make it easier to communicate and distribute web links via social media and emails because they work nicely in spaces that have character limitations. Brands also use shorteners for their analytics capabilities, allowing users to view how many times the link has been clicked and where the link is being shared.

Sometimes when you copy and paste a link for a page that you may want to share with someone, the link appears to be a long chain of letters, numbers and characters that don’t make much sense when pasted.  URL shorteners solve the issue of not-so-pretty URL links and create smaller, easier to manage links.  For social media sites like Twitter, that have a character limit, these shorteners free up more characters that you can use to write your message.

There are several free online services that will shorten your URL, the most familiar ones being bit.ly and tinyURL.  While they shorten long URL’s for the above reasons, there are several downfalls to free online services to shorten URLs.  The first is authenticity.  The shortened URL does not show who the link is from or where the link will go.  Spammers will use these free services to redirect online surfers to an unexpected site.  Another main problem is that shortened URLs give users the ability to view analytics with the link.  They show how many times the link has been shared or clicked.  It is a great tool for marketers to see how their links are being employed.  But with the free services,  that data can be made public, which some marketers probably wouldn’t be happy with.

To sidestep these problems, several brands choose to use branded shortened URLs.  Branded URLs shorten links and include the brand’s name that identifies who the link is from and that it can be trusted.  These also keep tabs on where the link is being shared and how often.  Because it’s branded, the analytics and tracking remain hosted on a private server.

One way to brand these short URLs is to build it on their own.  The route most brands take is to purchase services to authenticate their links.  A great service, if I do say so myself, is the Vitrue Social Relationship Manager (SRM).  Along with the ability to manage posts and build apps for your Facebook and Twitter pages, the Vitrue SRM allows users to brand their shortened URLs to share.

How will you shorten?

How Social Is Your Brand? Let’s See How Your FaceBook Page Measures Up

So I’m loving the potential for Facebook as a marketing vehicle for business! In this blog and future blogs I want to share some Facebook marketing strategies, Facebook marketing tips and our own Facebook marketing services. I have discovered a Facebook marketing solutions provider as well that offers tons of great Facebook marketing information. Following is a blog from Vitrue.com:

Hot on the heels of the New Year brings an update to the Vitrue Social Media Index, version 2.0 to be exact. Since the first public Beta in October 2008 this marks the 3rd update to our social mentions monitoring algorithm. As the social media landscape continues to evolve, so must the Vitrue SMI. To keep up with the evolution, we have re-calibrated the algorithm to reflect site growth, decline and popularity from the major social networks.

How social is your brand? Try the new Vitrue Social Media Index: Click here!

About Vitrue SMI

The Vitrue SMI report is an easy to understand measurement of your brand’s social mentions. Based on our patent-pending technology, index scores are comprised of various mentions from social networks like Facebook and Twitter to popular media sites like YouTube and Flickr. The Vitrue SMI score provides a snapshot in time to help make sense of the overwhelming amount of measurable data.

We derive the Vitrue SMI by reviewing popular social media sites. We update the Vitrue SMI
once daily. Our sample set represents different dimensions of social interactivity:

  • Social Networking – general sharing
  • Video Sharing – high engagement of viewing time and authenticity of dimensions
  • Status Updates – aka Micro-Blogs; key influencers who chatter and actively push content
  • Photo Sharing – social meta data
  • Blogs – general blogsphere, commentary mentions

The index numbers are not intended to be used in absolute terms; rather, they provide a numerical basis to compare the social media prominence of two or more terms.

Ecommerce Internet Marketing Tips

Using Guerilla Tactics to Spy on Your Competitor’s Keywords, Traffic and Visitors

The following is an article provided by Big Commerce, the highly recommended e-commerce solution we use for our website design and internet marketing clients. This is chapter 1 in their E-Book Guerilla Marketing with Social Media

Let’s get started at the beginning-competitive research.

In this chapter I’ll show you how you can spy on your competitor’s keywords, traffic and visitor demographics for free. If you’ve been doing search engine marketing for a while then you probably know the two sites I’m going to discuss, but if you’re brand new then you may not.

The first website is Compete.com. The second is an oldie but a goodie. It’s Alexa.com and its still relevant.

Let’s start with Compete.com…basically it’s a way for you to look at the traffic, keywords and demographics of people going to your website or any website on the internet including your competitors.

You can compare websites to see graphs of traffic or visitor demographics and keywords. You can look at reach. You can see how popular a particular website is in any country, etc..Compete.com gets all of their data from internet service providers like Comcast so its fairly accurate. They parse their log files and can see where people go opn the internet.

They obviously don’t have data for everyone in the world but they have a large enough sample that it’s thought to be accurate.

Alexa.com is up next, which is now owned by Amazon. With Alexa you have to install a toolbar or an ad-on in Firefox or Internet Explorer and it tracks the websites you go to and sends that information back to their servers anonymously. Alexa compiles the data and creates similar reports to those found on Compete.com.

You can see traffic, demographics, reach, etc…but with Alexa they give each website a number. So the number one website is Google.com, which means it gets the most traffic in the world. Number 2 is Facebook and then it goes all the way down from there. Your website won’t show up on Alexa unless it’s one of the 100,000 most popular websites in the world! For reference, BigCommerce.com is currently the 6,513 most popular website in the world!

So what can you do with this data? Well a simple example is using demographic filtering (such as sex, age, location, education) when you create a Google Adwords campaign. If you see that most visitors to your online store are women aged 18 and 25 then you can set up thoise filters when creating your ads on Google so only people who match the demographics you’ve specified will see you ad. This leads to more relevance which in theory means you pay less per click because each visitor is worth more to your business.

Ideally you would survey your existing customers to get their demographic data because what you want to attract are people who “fit the mold” of your typical customer, not simply more website vistors. Customers buy, but not all website visitors do.

Emailing a simple survey to existing customers using tools like  Constant Contact is a great way to find out the demographics of people buying from you.

You should ask for their gender, age, location and education level. To encourage survey responses you can even give away a prize to one randomly selected customer who competes your demographic survey.

Rhino Ruby Studios offers affordable internet marketing services for small businesses including SEO keyword research, SEO copywriting and content writing, video internet marketing, blogging, and email marketing. We highly recommend to all of our clients the top rated e-commerce service provider, Big Commerce. Anatomy of a Facebook Post…the Scoop from Vitrue

I have recently begun using Facebook as a serious marketing vehicle in earnest. I have one e-commerce website that has four blogs associated with it, all of which are auto-posted to our Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/SeedsofIntentions) Every day we post 2-3 items of interest. I have also begun using Facebook ads to grow our Facebook fan base. We’ve tested multiple approaches, copy and images and have hit a home run with one of our Facebook ads. With a conservative budget of $10 we are growing our fan base at a rate of 1000 fans/month! We anticipate a fan base of over 15,000 individuals by the end of this year. If we want to spend more money we could grow it quite a bit faster too!

In my research on Facebook I have stumbled upon a very interesting comapany named Vitrue. They have very interesting statistical information on Facebook posts. Here’s some interesting stats:

  1. Most Effective Post Type: Across all brands and represented business verticals, image posts are more engaging as measured by fan responses, likes and shares than video or text.
  2. Post Effectiveness by Time of Day: A clear indication of variability in engagement by vertical is the differences between the entire data set and a single vertical like QSR. Posts made before noon get 65% more engagement than posts after noon across all fans served, versus QSR that experiences 12% more engagement for posts made in the afternoon.
  3. Post Effectiveness by Day of Week: The post effectiveness varies considerably by industry vertical, but when all fan data was viewed in the aggregate, Friday posts generate the most engagement while Saturday and Sunday posts have the least engagement.

The previous information was found at the following post: Anatomy of a Facebook Post: Vitrue’s Data Behind Effective Social Media Marketing. Great website of information that compiles tons of Social media information!
